Zahradnik Dragon produces generous Decorative blooms that wander from creamy champagne-yellow into blush pink and dusty rose, sometimes looking like an entirely different flower decided to clock in for the afternoon shift.

Zahradnik Dragon is an older European dahlia with a surprisingly mysterious history. It is documented in European collector circles by at least 2012 and appears in the European Dahlia Register as cultivar #4221, but its original hybridizer, exact country of origin, and introduction year have proven difficult to trace.

Apparently the dragon ate the paperwork.

What survived is one heck of a flower.

The large Decorative blooms generally run approximately 5–7 inches and begin with a warm buttery-yellow to champagne base.
