Antlers Up! 🫎 Meet Burfoot Eva — the peachy picotee heart-throb that muscled her way to the very top of my 2025 trial list. Out of the 300 new varieties I grew this year, Eva’s the one I kept high-fiving all season. She just. kept. blooming. Like she had a personal vendetta against empty buckets.
Here’s why I’m smitten:
- Perfect peach-to-cream petals with a soft picotee edge and consistently tidy centers.
- Upward-facing blooms that show off in the field and in photos (no dramatic head-droops here).
- Mad bouquet skills: long, elegant stems and an impressively long vase life.
- Blooms come in sprays if you skip disbudding, which is florist catnip.
- It shrugged off the season and pumped out flowers like a caffeinated overachiever.
Dapper Specs (Moose Math included)
- ADS style class: Miniature (M) • Formal Decorative (FD) • Light Blend (LB)
- Bloom size: ~3–3.5 in (call it snack-size perfection)
- Average plant height: 4–5+ ft (most gardens see ~4–5 ft; tall kids hit 5.5 ft)
- Color notes: sunrise peach with cream/soft yellow washes and a delicate picotee rim
- Extra credit: often low-to-no pollen → longer vase life for the win
Breeder shout-out 👏
Huge congrats to Mara & Noll at Burfoot Flowers (Thurston County, WA) on this absolute gem. Releasing Eva to the world was an inspired move — she’s a certified crowd-pleaser in the garden and the studio. Y’all nailed it.
