Darbro Highland

Darbro Highland is a beautifully variable miniature decorative dahlia bred by Daryn Brown in New South Wales, Australia, and introduced in 2022. It combines soft, romantic coloring with the kind of productivity and stem quality that makes a dahlia genuinely useful in the cutting garden.

The blooms can shift considerably in color. In our field, we've seen shades ranging from soft apricot and peach to watermelon pink, coral and deeper rosy-red, often with warm yellow or creamy undertones. Some flowers lean soft and pastel, while others develop much richer pink and red tones, giving the plant a surprising amount of variation through the season.

Darbro Highland is also a strong performer for cutting. Plants are productive, with sturdy stems and good bloom attachment, and multiple Australian growers specifically note its florist value, long stems and good vase life. The flowers are generally in the 3–4 inch range, making them extremely versatile for bouquets and design work.
