 Every once in a while a dahlia shows up that feels less like a plant…

and more like a piece of garden art.

Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire is exactly that kind of variety.

Bred in France by the legendary horticultural house Delbard in collaboration with Jeanne de Laval, this refined Dwarf Decorative dahlia produces beautifully sculpted blooms measuring about 5 inches across. Each flower forms a perfectly layered rosette of smooth petals arranged with the kind of symmetry that makes decorative dahlias look almost too perfect to be real.

And then there’s the color.

The blooms glow in warm salmon-pink and coral tones, the kind of sunset palette that makes photographers hover and bouquet makers reach for their snips. In the right light the petals seem to shimmer between coral, peach, and soft rose—like the sky over the Loire River just before evening settles in.

Despite the luxurious blooms, the plant stays wonderfully compact at about 2–2½ feet tall, forming tidy, well-branched bushes that absolutely pump out flowers all season long. This makes it incredibly versatile: perfect for containers, borders, mass plantings, and flower arrangements.
