Florelie Kindness Dahlia
Some dahlias demand attention with outrageous colors and blooms the size of dinner plates. Florelie Kindness takes a different approach.
It shows up looking sweet, innocent, and perfectly well-behaved. Then it produces flowers so beautiful that suddenly everyone wants to be its friend.
Bred by Lorelie Merton of Florelie Seasonal Flowers in Australia and released in 2020, Florelie Kindness is a lovely decorative dahlia featuring soft blush-pink petals with delicate lemon coloring toward the center. Depending on growing conditions and the stage of the bloom, the flowers can also display warm peachy-pink tones, creating a beautiful combination of soft, romantic colors.
And while Kindness may have a gentle personality when it comes to color, it's certainly no pushover in the flower field.
Australian flower growers particularly appreciate this variety for its long, strong stems and excellent cutting potential. Its softly layered flowers bring warmth and texture to bouquets, wedding arrangements, and garden-grown floral designs without overpowering the other flowers.
The blooms are generally described by growers as small decorative or small informal decorative, although the breeder uses the broader decorative classification. Their rounded, layered appearance gives them a lovely, full look, while the subtle variations in pink, peach, and lemon make each flower interesting.
Kindness is especially appealing in arrangements featuring cream, apricot, blush, peach, and other pastel shades. But don't underestimate what it can do alongside deeper burgundy or purple flowers. Sometimes the quietest flower in the bouquet is the one that makes everything else look better.
For gardeners who enjoy cutting flowers, Florelie Kindness offers a wonderful combination of beautiful coloring, useful stems, and flowers that are right at home in a vase.

Moose's Take
I've always believed a little kindness goes a long way.
Apparently, Lorelie Merton took that advice literally and turned it into a dahlia.
Soft pink petals, a little lemon in the middle, and just enough peach to keep things interesting. It's the kind of flower that looks like it would apologize for taking up too much room in the bouquet.
But don't let that innocent appearance fool you.
Give it a sunny spot, a little attention, and something to lean on, and it'll happily spend the summer showing off.
Florelie Kindness: proof that you can be sweet and still steal the show.
The Gardening Moose approves.
