Hapet Orange Summer walks in looking like someone set August on fire.

Bred in Austria by Peter Haslhofer, Hapet Orange Summer is a Waterlily dahlia with glowing apricot-orange blooms that can lean into coral, red-orange, and deeper raspberry tones as the flowers develop. The color is warm, saturated, and just unpredictable enough to keep things interesting from bloom to bloom.

The flowers are typically around 4–6 inches across, with the broad, softly arranged petals and open profile that give Waterlily dahlias their elegant look. Plants grow to about 4½ feet tall, giving them enough height for presence in the garden without turning into a full-blown botanical skyscraper.

And this one isn’t just pretty. Haslhofer himself identifies Hapet Orange Summer as a cut-flower variety, which makes perfect sense once you see it in the field. The blooms have that rare combination of refined Waterlily form and enough color to make a bouquet look like it suddenly developed confidence.

Moose’s Take: Hapet Orange Summer can’t quite decide whether it wants to be apricot, coral, orange, or red, so naturally it picked all of them. I support this level of indecision when it looks this good.

Rooted cuttings ship April 1 – May 15 via UPS 2nd Day Air. Orders are shipped when plants are ready and weather conditions are appropriate for safe travel. Because of the volume of orders we process during shipping season, orders cannot be combined. You’ll receive tracking information when your order ships.

What You'll Receive

You’ll receive a healthy, actively growing rooted dahlia cutting that has been professionally propagated and grown by Dapper Dahlias By Moose.

Once fully rooted, the plant is removed from its growing container with the rooted propagation plug intact, then carefully bagged and packed for shipping. Your cutting will arrive ready to be potted up or planted after appropriate acclimation.

Because these are live plants, size and appearance will naturally vary from plant to plant.

When your cutting arrives, open the package promptly and inspect the plant. Any concerns with your order must be reported within 3 days of delivery and include photos.

Rooted cuttings have been grown in protected greenhouse conditions and will need to be gradually acclimated to outdoor conditions before planting outside.
