Full Description
Lee’s Golden Ruffle is one of those dahlias that looks like it woke up, put on its best golden party dress, and decided to outperform half the field before breakfast. Bred by Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens in North Carolina, USA, this 2024 introduction brings 4-inch yellow-gold blooms with softly undulating, ruffled petals that give it just enough flair without going full drama queen.

What really makes this one purr is the plant itself. The breeder specifically notes long, straight green stems, a very vertical habit, and heavy production, which is basically Moose Math for yes please, put me in the cutting garden. This is the kind of variety that looks clean, cheerful, and bright in bouquets while still having enough texture to keep it interesting.

Why growers love it:

  • Bright yellow-gold color that reads warm and happy
  • 4-inch blooms that are super useful for arranging
  • Long, straight stems
  • Excellent cut flower and strong production habit
  • Fresh 2024 Lee introduction, which always gets the dahlia herd paying attention
