RM Ballet Blush Dahlia
Soft blush-pink and creamy petals, delicate golden warmth, and long, sturdy dark stems. RM Ballet Blush is a romantic new American dahlia with the kind of understated beauty that makes wedding florists fall in love.
Some dahlias demand attention with enormous flowers and outrageous colors. RM Ballet Blush takes a different approach. It doesn't need to shout to get noticed.
Introduced in 2026 by River Merle Farm in Washington, this beautiful new variety produces approximately 4-inch Formal Decorative blooms in soft blush-pink and creamy tones. A gentle golden warmth near the center adds depth to the coloring, creating a flower that feels both elegant and inviting.
The neatly arranged petals give the blooms their classic decorative appearance, while occasional petaloids add an unexpected touch of personality. These small, petal-like structures may appear among the regular petals, giving certain flowers a slightly different character.
But RM Ballet Blush isn't just another pretty face.
One of its most appealing qualities is its cutting potential. The breeder specifically describes long, dark, sturdy stems that make this variety particularly well suited to harvesting and arranging. Those darker stems provide an attractive contrast to the soft-colored flowers, while the delicate coloring makes RM Ballet Blush a natural candidate for wedding bouquets, romantic arrangements, and sophisticated floral designs.
Plants reach approximately 5–5½ feet tall, providing plenty of garden presence without relying on oversized blooms. As with other tall dahlias, sturdy staking is recommended to keep plants supported throughout the growing season.
The combination of soft coloring and strong cutting stems makes RM Ballet Blush especially interesting for flower growers and florists looking for romantic colors with practical arranging potential.
As a recent introduction, reliable information about productivity and vase life is still limited. Nevertheless, the breeder's firsthand observations regarding stem quality and floral use provide a promising foundation.
Whether you're growing dahlias for your own garden, creating beautiful bouquets, or searching for something special for wedding work, RM Ballet Blush offers a lovely combination of elegance, charm, and useful cutting characteristics.

Moose's Take
RM Ballet Blush sounds like something that ought to be wearing a tutu and performing at the Metropolitan Opera.
And looking at those soft pink-and-cream flowers, I can almost picture it.
But here's what I like about this one: underneath all that delicate ballerina beauty are some seriously sturdy stems.
Apparently, this ballerina has been spending time in the weight room.
That's a combination I appreciate. Pretty flowers are wonderful, but when you're cutting dahlias for arrangements, good stems are worth their weight in gold.
RM Ballet Blush brings the elegance of a ballet dancer with the backbone of a farmhand.
And around here, that's a pretty good combination.
