This one hasn’t just impressed me — it’s the variety that had The Gardening Moose pacing the rows, antlers held high, declaring, “Yep, this is the superstar of the RM clan this year.”

✨ Dahlia ‘RM Mauvelous’ — A Rustic Glow with Gold Edges

From River Merle Farm, Mauvelous is one of those cultivars that combines refinement with reliability. The blooms are a muted yet glowing antique mauve-pink, brushed with just enough gold edging to make them look kissed by sunset.

The Formal Decorative form gives a perfectly balanced look, while the plant itself towers around 5 feet tall, producing bloom after bloom like it’s on a mission. For me, Moose Logic says it best: if you plant 50 dahlias and one keeps making you stop and stare, that’s the keeper. And this one? It had me stopping so often I nearly tripped over my own hooves.
