Somewhere at River Merle Farm, someone looked at this ridiculously cheerful pink dahlia and decided to name it RM Party Popper.

Which is considerably more polite than calling it Pink Confetti Explosion With Roots.

A 2026 introduction from Hailey Sly of River Merle Farm, RM Party Popper produces bright pink miniature ball blooms with subtle yellow undertones that give the flowers an extra little spark of color. Measuring approximately 2.5–3 inches across, the blooms feature tightly arranged petals that create a wonderfully rounded shape.

But the real excitement isn’t just what the flowers look like. It’s how many of them this plant apparently intends to produce.

The breeder describes RM Party Popper as an exceptionally prolific bloomer, and with plants reaching approximately 4.5–5 feet tall, there’s plenty of room for the festivities. Those compact, colorful flowers are especially well suited for cutting gardens and floral arrangements, where their cheerful pink coloring adds a lively splash without overwhelming everything around them.

I have a suspicion that RM Party Popper is going to be one of those dahlias that makes you say, “I’ll just cut a few flowers,” and suddenly you’re standing in the kitchen with three full buckets, no clean vases, and absolutely no regrets.

It’s bright, it’s cheerful, and apparently nobody told it there’s a limit on flower production.

Somebody bring more buckets.
