RM Smokeshow

RM Smokeshow Dahlia

RM Smokeshow didn’t come here to quietly blend into the flower bed. With smoky raspberry blooms, subtle flashes of gold, and long, dark stems, this one showed up dressed for trouble—and frankly, we approve.

A 2026 introduction bred by Hailey of River Merle Farm in Olympia, Washington, RM Smokeshow produces approximately 3.5–4 inch Formal Decorative blooms on tall, vigorous plants reaching around 5 feet.

The color is what makes Smokeshow special. Those rich, smoky raspberry petals are touched with subtle gold at the tips, while the dark stems underneath provide a dramatic contrast that makes the whole plant look just a little moodier, richer, and more sophisticated.

And it isn't just standing around looking pretty. River Merle describes the plants as being packed with blooms, making Smokeshow an especially exciting choice for both the garden and cutting patch. Those long, dark stems don't exactly hurt its bouquet credentials either.

Plants grow approximately 5 feet tall and benefit from staking to keep all that raspberry-colored fabulousness pointed in the proper direction.

Moose’s Take

Smoky raspberry, gold tips, dark stems—the Moose recognizes overdressing when he sees it.

RM Smokeshow walked into the dahlia patch looking like it owns the place.

I’d tell it to tone things down, but I’m a moose in sunglasses selling fancy flowers.

I have no standing here.
