RM Warmth Dahlia

Some dahlias bring the color. RM Warmth brings the sunshine, with just enough pink to make things interesting.

RM Warmth is a beautiful American-bred dahlia featuring soft buttery-yellow blooms brushed with delicate pink. Introduced in 2026 by River Merle Farm in Olympia, Washington, this lovely formal decorative variety combines warm, cheerful coloring with a softer, romantic appearance that makes it especially appealing for garden displays and floral arrangements.

The approximately 4-inch flowers feature layers of creamy yellow petals accented by pink blushes and edging. The combination creates a gentle bicolor effect, with the pink adding warmth and dimension without overpowering the golden-yellow base.

It's a particularly appealing color combination for anyone who loves dahlias in shades of peach, blush, cream, and soft yellow. RM Warmth offers the brightness of a yellow flower without the intensity of some more saturated varieties.

Plants grow approximately 3½ feet tall, making RM Warmth a relatively manageable addition to the cutting garden.

One of the more interesting characteristics reported by the breeder is its tendency to produce flowers in clusters. While this creates an attractive display in the garden, River Merle Farm recommends disbudding and cutting deeply when harvesting RM Warmth for floral arrangements. Removing competing buds helps direct the plant's energy toward developing individual blooms for cutting.

That makes RM Warmth a variety where a little thoughtful flower-farming technique can help gardeners get the most from their plants.

Its warm yellow-and-pink coloring offers wonderful possibilities for floral design. Pair it with cream and blush dahlias for a soft, romantic arrangement, or combine it with peach, coral, and warm orange varieties for a cheerful summer bouquet.

RM Warmth also brings the appeal of a recent American introduction. Developed through the breeding program at River Merle Farm in Washington, it is part of a growing collection of distinctive RM dahlias selected for their individual characteristics and garden appeal.

For gardeners looking for something a little different from the usual pink or yellow dahlia, RM Warmth offers a lovely combination of both.

Moose's Take

I have a soft spot for dahlias that manage to combine two colors without looking like they couldn't make up their minds.

RM Warmth does that beautifully.

The buttery-yellow petals and soft pink accents give it a warm, cheerful appearance, but there's enough subtlety in the coloring to make it useful in more sophisticated floral arrangements.

What I find particularly interesting is the breeder's recommendation to disbud and cut deeply. That's useful information for anyone growing dahlias specifically for cut flowers. Not every variety behaves the same way, and understanding how to harvest a particular dahlia can make a real difference.

At approximately 3½ feet tall, RM Warmth also offers a relatively manageable plant size, with flowers large enough to make an impression without overwhelming an arrangement.

And then there's the name.

RM Warmth sounds like something you'd appreciate on a cold February morning in Utah, preferably while standing in a greenhouse where somebody remembered to turn the heat on.

Unfortunately, it won't help with the propane bill.

RM Warmth combines soft golden-yellow and pink coloring, attractive decorative blooms, and the appeal of a distinctive new American-bred dahlia.
